Founder member of the band and stalwart of the irish traditional music scene, with a distinctive laid-back presence on fiddle.  Recorded for Warner Bros, played with Irish Mist for many years, and is an award winning journalist, who occasionally joins the band for gigs.

THE BAND

The band’s main singer/songwriter, has played and sung with a range of bands including Poormouth, Moondance and MrJJ.  Recent collaborations have been with Brighton band Five Kites, and artist Kevin Quiqley.

Steno guests with the band whenever he can.   A brilliant rhythm man and purveyor of fine guitar sounds, he’s the only person we know who’s played the ‘Psychokiller’ guitar.  Steno also works with the Carnival Band and in theatre.

Malcolm Rogers - fiddle, vocals

Roddy Rogers - vocals, guitars, fiddle, mandola

Steno Vitale - guitar, mandolin, backing vocals

The band’s latest top-notch percussionist, Simon also works with the excellent Nigel Bagge in the Jubilee Blues Band, and brings a rare musicality to his drumming.  Oh, and plays the finest Gretsch kit you’re likely to hear!

Simon Rattray - drums, percussion, backing vocals

Fabulous bassist, and the long term bass man in Brett Marvin and the Thunderbolts. Doug also played with Roddy in the heavy duty 7 Second Delay, along with Chanter’s late lamented drummer Al Kealy.

Doug Strathie - bass, backing vocals
